What it does
Tinny(not) is an hourly chime and speaking clock for iPhone. It sounds the hour from your lock screen, with the app closed, using one of 14 built-in sounds, a voice that speaks the time aloud, or words you write yourself. Pick your hours, pick your days, pick whether it marks every hour, every half hour, or every quarter.
Free to download. A single one-time purchase unlocks everything else. No subscription, no advertising, and it collects no data whatsoever. The name is a joke about the one thing people feared it would sound like: it is Tinny, and it is not tinny.

Features
Chimes from the lock screen
Set your hours and days once. Chimes fire with the app closed and the phone locked, because they are scheduled with iOS through Apple's UserNotifications framework rather than played by a running app.
Speaking clock
Hear the time spoken instead of chimed, in any speech voice installed on your iPhone, in your language and your 12 or 24 hour format. Generated on the device.
14 sounds, or your own
Fourteen built-in chimes, from soft bells to a public address pip. Import up to 3 of your own recordings in .wav, .caf or .aiff, each up to 30 seconds.
A sound per quarter
Every hour, half hour or quarter. Give :00, :15, :30 and :45 each their own sound, or silence one of them entirely, and know the quarter without looking.
Your own words
Replace the time with your own text, like "Take your pills" or "Stretch break". With the speaking clock selected, the app reads your message aloud.
Works with VoiceOver
The main controls carry VoiceOver labels and announce their state. We test with VoiceOver and fix what we find.
Nothing collected
No analytics, no accounts, no advertising, no network requests. The app has no servers to send anything to. One-time purchase, no subscription.
